Laura Tedeschi
is an illustrator and graphic designer working in the town of
Brooklyn, Northeastern Connecticut, not New York City, lots of cows,
no cabbies.
She studied illustration and printmaking at the
University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, but had actually been
drawing and studying since she could hold a crayon.
Laura worked as an art director for graphic design firms and ad
agencies for more years than she cares to think about, before striking
out on her own in 1995 to run T2 Creative, a studio for
illustration
and graphic design. The staff being mainly herself but occasionally
includes her copywriter husband Paul and some dedicated freelancers /
friends. Her background as an art director makes her very conscious of
the clarity of a concept when working on an illustration. Fearing
boredom, she has worked in a variety of media including watercolor,
cut paper, scratchboard, pen and ink, digital imaging/mixed media and
pastel.
She has sat on the board of the Connecticut Art Directors Club and
has awards from the usual local shows, and also been a member of
various local trade groups (Hartford Ad Club, Creative Communications
Club of Providence, Independent Creative Club, Hartford Mac Users
Club) and served on the board of a local cooking school. Her real
passions are gardening and cooking, but recently extracurricular
activities have taken a back seat to her latest projects, young
children, Alex, six and Hallie, three. |
